Jo Nash Textiles Heading

About

Hi,

My name is Jo and I am the founder and chief creator at Jo Nash textiles.

I have cared about the environment for as long as I can remember. I was fortunate to grown up in the countryside and studied environmental science as part of my Agricultural degree. My concerns for the environment started back then with my dissertation on climate change. These worries have increased with the discovery of microplastics in the Antarctic and organs of many animals around the World. Put simply, we are destroying the planet.

My mission is to reduce the use of plastics in fabric and encourage people to buy simply made local fashions. To this end I create handwoven woollen products, using only British wools and homegrown organic plant dyes. I take the local to the extreme with some of my products by using wool from my own small flock of Portland sheep. I hand process and spin the wool, before weaving and dyeing. This is a very time consuming process.

As part of my pledge to the environment, I no longer buy plastic clothes. My focus is on wearing wool and linen, as they are the most environmentally friendly materials we have.

Join me in the fashion revolution, by buying British made items created from sustainable, biodegradable materials.

Happy shopping!

Jo
