Each heritage wool coaster (or mug rug) is a sustainable, rustic luxury, born entirely from my flock of rare breed Portland sheep, created and finished by hand. This isn’t just a coaster; it’s a piece of enduring, functional textile art with a story spun into every thread.
The Finest Heritage Wool
The journey begins with my small, cherished flock. I use beautiful, durable wool from my Portland sheep – a vulnerable breed and complement it with fibre from other Dorset Zwartble sheep to give the natural black colour.

Handspun: Each fibre is lovingly processed and handspun into yarn, ensuring a unique texture and strength that commercial yarns simply cannot match.
- Natural Dyes: The yarn is carefully dyed with plant dyes grown organically in my garden, to ensure this is a truly eco-friendly product, free from chemical processing

Handwoven: The coasters are meticulously handwoven in small batches, giving them a uniqueness that is designed to last.
- Finishing: After removal from the loom, the coasters are finished in the washing machine (to ensure they are truly machine washable), before being tidied up by hand.
My process is a celebration of sustainability from the sheep pasture to your table.
